Hello! Thank you for your interest in my services. I acknowledge the vulnerability and strength it takes to seek support and look forward to holding space for clients ages 12+, couples, and groups on their journeys towards wellness. As a counsellor, I draw from an integrated, person-centred, trauma-informed approach that incorporates concepts from acceptance and commitment therapy, existentialism, nature therapy, and mindfulness.

I believe we are all climbing our own mountains through life, and when we sit together, I may have some perspective to offer on the mountains of my clients. From where I sit, I may see a different path they might take, a tool that might help them, a possible roadblock, or how far they have come. I aim to foster a safe, confidential, empathetic, and collaborative environment for my clients in which they can feel at ease to engage in, and grow from, the process of self-discovery.

My Specialties

Anxiety & Depression

Providing support, guidance, and interventions to clients experiencing excessive worry, fear, sadness and apprehension. Through a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic relationship, clients learn to identify triggers, manage symptoms, and develop coping strategies to navigate daily stressors more effectively. Counseling sessions may incorporate cognitive-behavioural techniques, relaxation exercises, mindfulness practices, and psychoeducation to help clients gain insight into their anxiety symptoms and build resilience. The goal is to empower clients to regain a sense of control, reduce anxiety levels, and improve overall well-being. This may entail inner child work or looking at the limitations of the automatic brain.

Counselling using the Gottman Method is grounded in the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, renowned for their work on marital stability and relationship dynamics. This approach emphasizes building stronger and healthier relationships by enhancing communication, resolving conflicts constructively, and fostering intimacy and connection. Through evidence-based interventions and assessment tools, I help couples gain insight into their relationship dynamics, identify areas of strength and growth, and develop practical skills to strengthen their bond. The Gottman Method focuses on building friendship, managing conflict, and creating shared meaning, with the ultimate goal of promoting long-lasting relationship satisfaction and resilience.

About Me

My becoming a Counsellor, was born after enduring a chronic and debilitating health challenge in my youth. I struggled to find faith in my ability to heal and somewhere along the way, I discovered that I wouldn’t heal unless I changed the negative thought patterns that were ruling my mind. I studied philosophy as part of my undergraduate degree and have always appreciated the power of words and their ability to inform and transform the mind. My mission as a mental health professional is to support you with your understanding and transforming how you experience your thoughts, feelings and life. I welcome you to join me and collaboratively discover what’s possible beyond the barriers of perception that we subconsciously impose on ourselves as human beings. Through the witnessed process of self-discovery, we can learn to live beyond the limitations of our automatic brains.
